Xero Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to hold a Xero accounting plan in order to use Sleek's accounting service? Can I start on the Xero starter plan?
Yes, a Xero subscription is required, either kept and self paid by you, or taken as Sleek's managed Xero add-on (S$720/year, free if you're on Sleek's Accounting & Payroll plan covering S$35,000+ expenses/month). You can start on the Xero Starter plan, but note its caps: up to 20 invoices/quotes and 5 bills per month. If your volume goes beyond that, you'd need to move up to the Standard plan.
If we already use Xero, can the invoices created there be submitted to Sleek, using the same Xero-generated invoice reference numbers?
Yes, since it's the same live Xero organisation Sleek works in, there is no separate system. The existing invoices and their reference numbers stay exactly as they are; there's no need to recreate or resubmit them. When you transfer your Xero subscription to Sleek, the Sleek team is added as a user/admin in your organisation as part of that process, so access is set up either way.
Do purchase invoices need to be entered manually in Xero in order to reconcile each transaction?
Yes, the bank feed only brings in the cash movement; each purchase invoice (bill) still needs to be entered/coded in Xero so the payment can be matched against it during reconciliation.
If we have no Xero and no connected bank, do we upload bank statements into the dashboard manually each month?
Yes, where a direct bank feed isn't available, monthly bank statements need to be submitted manually (via the usual channels — app, email, or WhatsApp) so the team can process them. Hence we encourage a connected bank feed or to use our Sleek Business Account for automation.
