Definition of Beneficial Owner
A “Beneficial owner” means:
- An individual who ultimately owns or controls (whether through direct or indirect ownership or control) more than 25% of the shares or voting rights of the customer; or
- Otherwise exercises control over the management of the customer.
What are the necessary documents?
Each beneficial owner are required upload the following documents to the SLEEK platform:
- Identity document (For passports, to have more than 6 months validity) and;
- Proof of residential address (issued within the last three months).
Importance towards SLEEK
Sleek is a licensed Registered Filing Agent ("RFA") with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority ("ACRA") and a licensed Standard Payment Institution ("SPI") with the Monetary Authority of Singapore ("MAS"). As such Sleek is obligated to comply with the necessary Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism ("AML/CFT") and Customer Due Diligence ("CDD") requirements stated by these regulatory bodies
